چکیده

The treatment of emissions from natural gas engines is an important area research since methane a potent greenhouse gas. benchmark catalysts, based on Pd, still face challenges such as water poisoning and long-term stability. Here we report approach for catalyst synthesis that relies the trapping metal single atoms support surface, in thermally stable form, to modify nature further deposited metal/metal oxide. By anchoring Pt ions can tailor morphology phase. In particular, two-dimensional (2D) rafts PdOx are formed, resulting higher reaction rates improved tolerance during oxidation. results show modifying by could provide addition toolkit designers controlling nucleation growth oxide clusters heterogeneous catalysts. Despite its importance context treatment, oxidation remains challenging. Now, authors introduce stabilize ceria superior this transformation.

Three-dimensional mesoporous carbon aerogels: ideal catalyst supports for enhanced H(2)S oxidation.

Impregnated mesoporous carbon aerogels serve as novel catalysts for the first time with respect to low-temperature oxidation of H(2)S to elemental sulfur, and exhibit particularly high activity (up to 3 g sulfur per gram of catalyst) and high selectivity.

Structure and Reactivity of PdOx/ZrO2 Catalysts for Methane Oxidation at Low Temperatures

The kinetics of methane combustion at low temperatures are consistent with a Mars–van Krevelen redox mechanism involving the activation of methane on site pairs consisting of oxygen atoms and oxygen vacancies on the surface of PdOx crystallites. H2O strongly inhibits methane oxidation rates by titrating surface vacancies in a quasi-equilibrated adsorption–desorption step. Initial activation per...

Tailored N-Containing Carbons as Catalyst Supports in Alcohol Oxidation

The introduction of N-containing functionalities in carbon-based materials is brought to stable and highly active metal-supported catalysts. However, up to now, the role of the amount and the nature of N-groups have not been completely clear. This study aims to clarify these aspects by preparing tailored N-containing carbons where different N-groups are introduced during the synthesis of the ca...

The Ru-Hbpp water oxidation catalyst.

A thorough characterization of the Ru-Hbpp (in,in-{[Ru(II)(trpy)(H(2)O)](2)(mu-bpp)}(3+) (trpy is 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine, bpp is bis(2-pyridyl)-3,5-pyrazolate)) water oxidation catalyst has been carried out employing structural (single crystal X-ray), spectroscopic (UV-vis and NMR), kinetic, and electrochemical (cyclic voltammetry) analyses. The latter reveals the existence of five different o...
